The Earth is Flat
If you have never visited Fark, I suggest you do so now. Today, while I was making my daily visit, I was reminded of something I heard several years ago: People still believe the earth is flat. Yes, it’s crazy. Read about it here.
Or is it?
Apparently we are being held on the earth and don’t “fall off” because of the ice surrounding the the edges of the oceans, or something.
I think I can go with this theory. I would like to believe. It would completely make for amazing explorations in the future when we discover what is on the other side of the earth. I have ideas, hypotheses, brewing in my thoughts. I think it’s where the Care Bears really live.
Prove me wrong.

hahahahaha
well in your second diagram the Earth isn’t really FLAT…

hmmm, true. it’s killing me now, WHAT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE?!

When I was a little kid, I used to think that we all lived on the INSIDE of the Earth. So people on the other side of the Earth were actually above us. So I would look up at the clouds and think about all those Chinese people hanging upside down up there, and then I wondered how space shuttles got out of the Earth to get to space.
I was dumb.
I guess that story didn’t really have anything to do with your blog. I like the Care Bears picture though…the Care Bears are HUGE in that thing!

I’m still wondering how you/they created that Flat Earth image with the ice cap borfer.

Ugh, I know all about the Flat Earth Society, they’re pratically my arch-nemesis. One of them is a freaking pilot. A PILOT!
August 15, 2008 at 5:43 am
Ooh, then you know how to join right? Do they give you a a member’s card?
August 15, 2008 at 5:52 am
I don’t know how to join, just how to argue with them. It was probably 5 or 6 years ago anyway. That’s not even the same site up there I don’t believe.

Doho: As a pilot, that’s not saying much.
It’s funny that the tag for “carebears” has three people on my blogroll including me.

So the care bears are living in Hell? Yeesh that seems weird. But then, I suppose if I was sentenced to an eternity of suffering, it might be having to spend eternity living with the care bears and singing their songs.
As for the world being flat and protected by ice–I bet those people are freaking out over global warming even more than Al Gore–cuz, if the ice melts–the oceans drain out and we all slide into space.
Okay, now I’m freaked out.
